How to Use Debately

Getting Started

  1. Click "Create Your First Debate" on the homepage
  2. Enter a title and optional description
  3. Choose a debate type (optional)
  4. Click Save to create your debate

Managing Arguments

  1. Open your debate from the home page
  2. Use the Kanban board to organize arguments
  3. Add new arguments with the "+" button
  4. Move arguments between Pro, Con, and Neutral columns

Using the Speech Builder

  1. Select your speaker position
  2. Choose between 1st, 2nd, or 3rd speaker
  3. Add arguments from your Kanban board
  4. Write and organize your speech

Debate Tracking

  1. Use the timer to track speech duration
  2. Set POI windows using the slider
  3. Wait for applause notifications at POI start/end
  4. Take notes for each speaker using the tracking section
  5. Notes are automatically saved and persist between sessions
